Between September 2019 and March 2020, bushfires raged across south-eastern Australia, leaving a trail of destruction and devastation in their wake. Dubbed by many as ‘Armageddon’, the fires destroyed over 2700 homes and took the lives of 34 people. And then there was the wildlife: a reported 3 billion animals were killed or displaced, the most for any event in recorded history.
