In 605 BC the great Babylonian warrior king Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and plundered the city. Among many of the inhabitants taken captive and exiled to Babylon was Daniel, a young Israelite nobleman. Life for a captive was not easy, and Daniel and his colleagues endured many challenges, hardships and even death threats. But for 70 years, Daniel not only survived, but thrived; eventually rising to the position of Prime Minister in the king’s cabinet.
