The story of the Eureka Stockade is more than just a famous battle in Australia’s history. The people within that stockade were neither revolutionaries nor insurgents, they were simply rebelling against injustice. They didn’t want to change the system of government, they just wanted to be included in it. So they sowed a flag, built a fence and fought back. Many sacrificed their lives.
