Ketef Hinnom in old Jerusalem is where archaeologist Dr Gabriel Barkay made one of the most exciting discoveries of modern times. Lying at the junction of two valleys on the old Bethlehem road, it consists of a series of rock-hewn burial chambers, and is a place of treasure – buried treasure, some 2700 years old! The hoard of priceless valuables Barkay unearthed included two tiny silver scrolls carrying an ancient message that surprised the world.
